Arsenal Secures 2-0 Win Over Everton in Premier League Match
In a recent match in the Premier League, Arsenal defeated Everton 2-0. The team continues its pursuit of the title.
During the game, Max Dowman, an 16-year-old winger for Arsenal, scored a goal in stoppage time. This marked his first Premier League goal and broke the record previously held by James Vaughan, who achieved this feat at 16 years and 270 days old while playing for Everton against Crystal Palace in 2005.
Dowman’s achievement is notable, as he was only making his third appearance in the Premier League after two previous substitute appearances earlier in the season. He had previously set a record as the youngest player to participate in a Champions League match at 15 years and 308 days old while entering as a second-half substitute against Slavia Prague in November.
Dowman, who is still in school, was invited by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to train with the senior team in December last year. He also participated in the club’s preseason tour of Asia, where they played matches against AC Milan and Newcastle.
As per Premier League regulations for players under 18, Dowman must use a separate locker room for training sessions and matches compared to his senior teammates.
