Barcelona Advances to Spanish Super Cup Final with Dominant Win Over Athletic Bilbao

In a highly anticipated match, Barcelona defeated Athletic Bilbao 5-0 in their Spanish Super Cup semifinal played in Jeddah on Wednesday. The victory marked the team’s ninth consecutive win and sets them up for a potential showdown against Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid in the final.

Barcelona took an early lead through Ferran Torres, who capitalized on a loose pass from Fermin Lopez to score in the 22nd minute. Lopez then scored twice, including one goal and two assists, as Barcelona dominated the first half with four goals. Raphinha also contributed to the scoring, netting his second goal of the match in the 52nd minute.

Ferran Torres added a fourth goal for Barcelona when he fired into the back of the net from close range on the 34th minute. Roony Bardghji sealed the win with a low shot into the net after being set up by Lopez.

The victory marked Barcelona’s 15th Spanish Super Cup title, and they will now await the outcome of Thursday’s second semifinal between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid to determine their opponent in the final. Lamine Yamal made his debut for Barcelona as a late substitute against Athletic Bilbao and is expected to start in Sunday’s final.
