Thousands of Barcelona fans gathered in the streets of the Spanish city to celebrate the team’s La Liga title win. The open-top bus parade drew large crowds, with tens of thousands lining the route to catch a glimpse of their heroes.
During the celebration, 18-year-old Lamine Yayal was seen waving a Palestinian flag from inside an open-top bus. Footage of the moment has been widely shared online, showing Yayal’s gesture to cheers from the crowd.
Barcelona won their 29th La Liga title with a 2-0 victory over Real Madrid on Sunday. The team’s win marked the second time this season that the league’s outcome was decided by an El Clasico match.
The city of Barcelona has been a hub for pro-Palestinian activism in Spain since October 2023, when Israel launched its military operation in Gaza. Large protests and aid flotillas have departed from the city to support Palestine. The open-top bus parade took place on Monday, following the team’s victory over Real Madrid.
The event was attended by thousands of fans who lined the streets to celebrate Barcelona’s win.
