In a highly anticipated match, Barcelona has secured a commanding 6-2 lead over rival Real Madrid in the first leg of the Women’s Champions League quarterfinals. The victory marked Barcelona’s 25th consecutive game without defeat across all competitions.
The match got off to a strong start for Barcelona, with Ewa Pajor and Esmee Brugts scoring within the first 13 minutes. Linda Caicedo pulled one back for Real Madrid before Irene Paredes restored Barcelona’s two-goal lead. The score remained 2-1 until the second half, when Vicky Lopez and Pajor netted goals to extend Barcelona’s lead.
