Yamal’s goal came after a series of exchanges between him and Dani Olmo, which resulted in the Celta defender, Yoel Lago, bringing him down inside the box. Yamal converted the resulting penalty, but immediately signaled to the bench that he was hurt. He left the field on his own after being attended by doctors.

The match was delayed for over 15 minutes due to a medical incident in the stands. When play resumed, Yamal had been replaced by Roony Bardghji. Barcelona midfielder Pedri stated that winning the game was crucial and expressed concern about Yamal’s injury.

Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia made several key saves during the match, including one from Pablo Duran and Ferran Jutgla in the opening exchanges. The team struggled to create scoring opportunities until Ferran Torres scored a volley in the second half. However, the goal was disallowed due to an offside call against Torres.

The win restored Barcelona’s nine-point lead at the top of La Liga from Real Madrid, who lost 2-1 to Alaves on Tuesday. The team will face Getafe on Saturday and Real Betis on Friday. Villarreal is 12 points behind Real in third place but has a game in hand.
