Biden Expresses Concern Over Husbands Health During Debate

Former US First Lady Jill Biden Speaks on Her Husband’s Debate Performance

In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, former US First Lady Jill Biden discussed her husband’s performance at the first 2024 presidential debate. The programme asked Mrs. Biden if she was horrified by her husband’s actions during the debate, to which she responded that she was frightened because she had never seen him behave in such a manner before or since.

When questioned about what happened on June 27, 2024, when President Joe Biden took the stage opposite his Republican rival Donald Trump, Mrs. Biden stated that she did not know what occurred and thought he might be having a stroke as he struggled to maintain his train of thought.

The debate performance was widely panned, with critics pointing to it as a factor in Mr. Biden’s re-election campaign being tanked. The incumbent Democrat was 81 years old at the time, and his age has been a topic of discussion among voters. Following the debate, President Biden suspended his re-election campaign on July 21, 2024.

Since then, former President Trump has sought to portray Mr. Biden as not in control of his administration, citing concerns about his health and mental acuity. The Justice Department ultimately lacked evidence to bring a case against President Biden and his aides regarding these allegations.

President Biden has denied any accusations that he was in cognitive decline while in office, stating that he made the decisions during his presidency. A special counsel report issued by Robert Hur found that President Biden’s memory is “significantly limited,” but did not file charges due to concerns about his advanced age.
