Brazil Star Estevaos World Cup Hopes Put in Doubt After Injury

Chelsea Forward Estevao to Miss Rest of Season Due to Hamstring Injury

Estevao, a winger for Chelsea FC, will not be able to participate in the remainder of the season following a hamstring injury sustained during last week’s match against Manchester United. The 19-year-old player was taken off the field after 16 minutes and did not return for Tuesday’s game against Brighton.

According to interim coach Calum McFarlane, Estevao will be out for an extended period due to the severity of his injury. “Estevao unfortunately won’t play for us this season because he is going to be out for a little bit of time,” McFarlane stated on Friday. The exact timeframe for Estevao’s recovery was not provided.

The injury has raised concerns about Estevao’s availability for Brazil’s upcoming World Cup campaign, which begins on June 11. Estevao had been expected to participate in the tournament, but his current status is uncertain. Hamstring injuries can be lengthy and may require several weeks or even months to recover from.

Estevao joined Chelsea FC last year and has scored eight goals this season. His injury is the latest setback for Brazil, which will also be without Real Madrid winger Rodrygo due to a torn ACL and meniscus in his right knee. Chelsea’s next match is scheduled for Sunday against Leeds in the FA Cup semifinals.
