Brazilian soccer star Neymar issues apology to Robinhos son over incident

Santos Teammate Apologizes After Altercation

Neymar has publicly apologized to his teammate Robinho Jr and his family following an incident during a training session earlier this week. The apology came after the two players appeared to have put the dispute behind them during Tuesday’s 1-1 draw against Recoleta in Paraguay.

According to reports, the altercation occurred on Sunday when Neymar, who is Brazil’s all-time leading scorer, was dribbled past by his 18-year-old teammate during a training session. Robinho Jr confirmed that he had been slapped by Neymar, but stated that the incident was resolved after speaking with his parents and accepting the apology.

Neymar expressed remorse for his actions, stating that he had already apologized to Robinho Jr and his family privately before speaking to the press. He also acknowledged that physical altercations can occur in football, particularly among friends and teammates.

The incident has been closed, with both players appearing to have moved forward from the dispute. Neymar remains hopeful of being selected for Brazil’s World Cup squad, which will be named by coach Carlo Ancelotti on May 18. Robinho Jr is currently a former teammate of Neymar at Santos, but is currently serving time in prison after being convicted in Italy for gang rape.
