Chelsea to face Manchester City in FA Cup Final on Saturday

FA Cup Final: Manchester City to Face Chelsea at Wembley Stadium

Manchester City will participate in the English FA Cup final against Chelsea on Saturday, May 16 at 3pm (14:00 GMT) at Wembley Stadium in London. The match marks the first time both teams have faced each other in an FA Cup final.

Historically, Manchester City and Chelsea have combined for 15 FA Cup titles between them. However, this will be their first meeting in the final itself. Both teams have appeared in five of the last six finals.

Manchester City has already claimed the League Cup and is still in contention for a domestic treble. The team has been dominant in recent matches, with Crystal Palace beating them 1-0 in last season’s final to lift the trophy for the first time in their history.

Chelsea, on the other hand, has undergone significant changes, including the departure of manager Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior this season. The team is currently managed by Calum McFarlane, who will be taking charge of his sixth game in his second spell as interim manager.

The two teams last met in an FA Cup semifinal at Wembley Stadium in April 2024, with Manchester City winning the match 1-0. Chelsea has won the trophy eight times, with their first win coming in 1970 against Leeds United. Manchester City has lifted the cup seven times, with their most recent win coming in 2023.

The teams will face each other for the first time in an FA Cup final on Saturday, May 16 at Wembley Stadium.
