UFC 327: Carlos Ulberg Wins Light Heavyweight Title with First-Round Knockout

In a main event held at the Kasey Center in Miami, UFC light heavyweight champion Carlos Ulberg defeated former champion Jiri Prochazka to win the vacant title. The fight took place on Saturday, with United States President Donald Trump attending as a spectator.

Ulberg delivered a perfect left hook to Prochazka’s chin and won the bout via knockout at 3:45 mark of the first round. Ulberg improved his record to 15-1-0, while Prochazka fell to 32-6-1.

According to Ulberg, he caught Prochazka coming in with a left hook, followed by strikes, which led to the knockout victory. The fighter stated that he had tweaked something early in the first round but continued fighting and landed the decisive blow.

Prochazka expressed regret for not winning the fight, stating that he saw Ulberg’s injury and realized he had the opportunity to win. He vowed to return stronger and learn from his mistakes.

The victory marked Ulberg’s 10th consecutive win, while Prochazka has lost two of his last three UFC title fights since June 2022.

In other events at UFC 327, Paulo Costa defeated Azamat Murzakanov via knockout in the third round. The co-main event saw Josh Hokit defeat Curtis Blaydes by unanimous decision.

UFC president Dana White announced that a matchup between Hokit and Derrick Lewis had been added to UFC Freedom 250, which will take place at the White House on June 14.
