Donald Trump meets with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing

US President Donald Trump Arrives in Beijing for Summit with Xi Jinping

US President Donald Trump has arrived in Beijing, China, for a high-level summit with Chinese leader Xi Jinping. This marks Trump’s first visit to China since 2017 during his previous term as president.

Upon departure from the White House, Trump stated that he expected a “long talk” with Xi regarding various issues, including the US-Israeli conflict over Iran and trade tensions between the two countries. Trump also mentioned that he did not believe China needed to assist the US in addressing the situation with Iran.

In response to Trump’s visit, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement welcoming the US president and expressing readiness to work with the United States to expand cooperation and manage differences.

Trump’s visit comes amid strained relations between the US and China due to issues such as trade and Taiwan. The summit is expected to focus on addressing these tensions and exploring ways to improve bilateral relations.
