Eight children killed in Louisiana shooting incident
A domestic violence incident has resulted in the deaths of eight children and injuries to two others in Shreveport, Louisiana. The gunman, whose identity has not been released, was fatally shot by police during a car chase early Sunday morning.
According to officials, the incident occurred at three locations across the city, with investigators searching for evidence at all three sites. The victims ranged in age from one to 14 years old, and some were reportedly related to the suspect.
Police Corporal Chris Bordelon stated that the crime scene was extensive, spanning between two residences and a third location. Two other individuals were struck by gunfire but their conditions are currently unknown.
Police Chief Wayne Smith described the incident as “extensive” and noted that the suspected shooter was fatally shot during the vehicle chase. The Louisiana State Police have been asked to assist with the investigation, which is ongoing.
The police pursuit involved an officer, who was not injured in the shooting. The state police are seeking information from the public, including photos, videos, or any relevant details, to aid in their investigation.
