Eight children killed in mass shooting in Louisiana, US media reports

Eight children have been killed in a domestic disturbance incident in Shreveport, Louisiana, according to Police Chief Wayne Smith. The shooting occurred around 6 am on Sunday, and multiple news outlets reported that the victims ranged in age from one to 14 years old.

According to Smith, a total of 10 people were shot during the incident, which extended across three locations. He stated that the suspected shooter was fatally shot by police during a vehicle chase. Some of the children involved were related to the suspect.

The crime scene is still being investigated, and officials are gathering details about the incident. Louisiana State Police have been asked to assist Shreveport police in their investigation. In a statement, state police confirmed that no officers were harmed during the shooting, which involved an officer after a police pursuit into Bossier City on Sunday morning.
