US Department of Justice Releases Documents Related to Jeffrey Epstein’s Associates
The US Department of Justice has released a new set of documents, which include an email sent to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in 2011. The email was addressed by an associate of Epstein and outlined potential financial and legal opportunities related to Libya.
The document, dated July 2011, was sent several months after the NATO-backed uprising against Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi began. At that time, it was estimated that around $80 billion in Libyan funds were frozen internationally, including approximately $32.4 billion in the US. The email stated that the actual amount of stolen assets could be between three to four times this number.
According to the email, certain former members of MI6 and Mossad had expressed a willingness to assist in efforts to identify and recover “stolen assets”. The document also mentioned expectations that Libya would need to spend at least $100 billion on reconstruction and economic recovery. Additionally, discussions were held with international law firms about working on a contingency-fee basis.
The email highlighted Libya’s significant energy reserves and strong literacy rates as potential advantages for financial and legal initiatives. It stated that the country’s planned spending of at least $100 billion next year to rebuild its economy could provide an opportunity for Epstein’s associates to secure lucrative deals. The documents were released by the US Department of Justice on Friday, providing new insight into Epstein’s business dealings.
