England edges Nepal in T20 World Cup match by four-run margin

Nepal Falls Short in Group C Match Against England at T20 World Cup

In a closely contested match, Nepal’s hopes of pulling off an upset against two-time champions England were dashed by four runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday. The match was played as part of Group C in the T20 World Cup.

Nepal’s Lokesh Bam scored 39 runs off 20 balls, but it was not enough to secure a victory for his team. England finished with 184-7, while Nepal scored 180-6. The English team was led by captain Harry Brook (53) and teammate Jacob Bethell (55), who contributed significantly to their innings.

England’s bowling performance was marked by accurate deliveries from Sam Curran, which restricted Nepal’s scoring opportunities. In the final over, England’s seamers managed to limit Nepal’s scoring to just six runs, securing a narrow victory for the English team.

Earlier in the match, England struggled with 57-3 in the seventh over, but they recovered well under the leadership of Bethell and Brook. The two batters formed a strong partnership, combining for 71 runs during their 45-ball collaboration. Nepal’s Airee (44) and Paudel (39) also put up a good fight, scoring an 82-run stand from 54 balls.

The match was attended by hundreds of Nepalese fans who had traveled to the stadium to support their team. Despite Bam’s heroics with the bat, Nepal ultimately fell short of securing a major upset against England.
