At least 871 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip since the so-called ceasefire began last year, according to health ministry statistics.
On Sunday, at least five Palestinians were killed, including three in Deir el-Balah. The victims were identified as charity workers, and their deaths occurred after an attack on a community kitchen in the central city of Deir el-Balah.
Hamas has condemned the attack, calling it “a deliberate war crime” and stating that it is part of an ongoing genocide against its people in Gaza. The group’s statement also criticized what it described as “an unjustified international silence and inaction.”
The Israeli military has occupied approximately 60 percent of Gaza’s territory since the start of the conflict. On Sunday, the army reported killing a person within the designated buffer zone, stating that the victim was armed and posed an imminent threat to soldiers.
The incident occurred amid ongoing violence in the region. The health ministry has reported at least 72,760 Palestinians killed in Israel’s military operations in Gaza since October 7, 2023.
