India Wins Record-Breaking T20 World Cup Title at Home

The Indian team scored 255-5 in 20 overs, with Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma contributing significantly to their total. Samson hit 89 off 46 balls, while Abhishek scored 52 off 21. Ishan Kishan also made a notable contribution, scoring 54 off 25.

India’s star pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah took 4-15 in his four overs, which proved decisive in the match. He was named player of the final, while Samson was awarded the player of the tournament.

New Zealand was bowled out for 159, with Axar Patel taking three wickets for 27 runs in his three overs. The Kiwi team’s run chase was hindered by the loss of three wickets in the first powerplay, leaving them 47-3 in six overs.

The match saw several key moments, including a stunning diving catch by Ishan Kishan and a 52-run partnership between Mitchell Santner and Daryl Mitchell. However, India’s spin bowlers ultimately took control of the match, with Abhishek Sharma’s part-time left-arm spin bowling proving decisive in the final overs.

The victory marked India’s third T20 World Cup title, with the team becoming the first to successfully defend the trophy. The win was met with a sell-out crowd at the Narendra Modi Stadium, which witnessed a record-breaking performance by the Indian team.
