India wins U-19 Cricket World Cup title with dominant performance against England

India’s Under-19 Team Wins World Cup Title

In the final of the Under-19 ODI World Cup held in Harare on Friday, India defeated England by 111 runs. The match saw a standout performance from 14-year-old prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who scored 175 runs off 80 balls for his team.

Suryavanshi’s innings included 15 fours and 15 sixes, with the majority of his runs coming in the final stages of the game. He was eventually caught behind by England captain Thomas Rew to leave India on 251-3 in the 26th over.

India ultimately closed their 50 overs on 411-9, while England scored 311 runs in 40.2 overs. The match saw a strong performance from England’s Ben Dawkins and Caleb Falconer, who both contributed significant scores.

Suryavanshi was named player of the match and player of the tournament, having finished with 439 runs in seven innings at an average of 62.71. This victory marks India’s sixth title in the Under-19 ODI World Cup.

The young cricketer has already made a name for himself in the Indian Premier League, becoming the youngest player to post a century in the league. He also holds the record for the second-fastest hundred in tournament history, achieved during his debut match against Australia in 2024.
