Inter Miami’s Nu Stadium Opens with 2-2 Draw Against Austin FC

Miami, USA - Inter Miami’s new stadium, Nu Stadium, made its debut on Saturday in a highly anticipated match against Austin FC. The Major League Soccer (MLS) champions faced off against the Texas club in front of a sold-out crowd of 26,000 fans.

Co-owner David Beckham attended the event and expressed his excitement about the stadium’s opening, stating that it was “a dream come true” for the team. Beckham had previously announced plans to bring Inter Miami to Miami over 13 years ago.

The match kicked off with a celebratory atmosphere, but Austin FC quickly took control of the game. They scored the first goal in just six minutes, courtesy of Guilherme Biro’s header from a Facundo Torres corner kick. Inter Miami responded swiftly, with Lionel Messi equalizing four minutes later with a rare headed goal.

The match saw both teams create scoring opportunities, but Austin FC maintained their lead until the 53rd minute when Myrto Uzuni scored after Jayden Nelson was sent clean through on goal by Joseph Rosales. Inter Miami responded with two goals in quick succession, as Luis Suarez scored in the 85th minute and Messi’s free-kick came close to securing a dramatic winner.

However, Suarez’s second goal was ruled out for offside, leaving the final score at 2-2. The match marked an important milestone for Inter Miami, who have finally secured a permanent home after years of searching.
