Tehran, Iran - Reports indicate that air strikes and assassination attempts have been reported across Iran, with multiple areas of the capital Tehran and central Isfahan city targeted overnight into Sunday. Additionally, Israeli warplanes conducted precision strikes on privately-owned residential units in small towns in the provinces of Gilan and Mazandaran on Saturday.
According to local authorities, several people were killed in these incidents, although details are limited. Israeli media reported that a senior drone commander is believed to have been killed. Iranian officials have stated that they will continue retaliatory attacks against the region’s energy facilities.
Parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and aerospace commander Majid Mousavi have made statements about control over Israeli skies, with Mousavi saying “Pinpoint precision Seyed Majid, hit Dimona again.” Iranian hardline police chief Ahmad-Reza Radan also addressed a group of supporters in Tehran on Saturday night.
Defence Ministry spokesman Reza Talaei-Nik stated that attacks across the region will continue until the complete halt and surrender of the enemy. The government has reported damage to residential buildings, hospitals, schools, and other civilian facilities during the war.
US President Donald Trump issued a 48-hour ultimatum for Tehran to reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a key water route for global energy export, or face strikes on its power plants. In response, Iranian politicians and armed forces said they would strike back harder against the region’s energy facilities.
