Iran Conflict Enters 67th Day Amid Rising Tensions in Hormuz Strait

UAE Reports Interception of Iranian Missiles Following Suspected Drone Attack

The United Arab Emirates has confirmed that its air defenses successfully intercepted ballistic and cruise missiles fired from Iran, following a suspected drone attack on an oil facility in Fujairah. A fire was reported at the facility as a result of the incident.

Iran has not made any official statement regarding the incident.

Several countries, including Qatar, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, have issued statements condemning the suspected Iranian strike on the UAE. The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the European Union have also condemned the incident.

The United States President, Donald Trump, has warned Iran that if US Navy ships are targeted in the Strait of Hormuz, “Iran would be blown off the face of the earth.” However, a claim by Iran that a US naval frigate was hit has been denied by the US military.

Details of the incident are as follows: an oil facility in Fujairah was attacked by a suspected drone, resulting in a fire. The UAE’s air defenses then intercepted ballistic and cruise missiles fired from Iran.
