Iran launches missile and drone strikes in the Gulf region

US and Israel Pledge Continued Military Assault on Iran

Iran has launched a series of drone and missile strikes across the Gulf region, targeting countries including Kuwait, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates. The attacks come in response to ongoing military operations by the US and Israel.

According to reports, air defences in Kuwait intercepted projectiles in the country’s airspace late on Thursday. In Qatar, the Ministry of Defence confirmed that the country was targeted in several attacks, including 14 ballistic missiles and four drones originating from Iran.

Iran initially targeted US military assets in the region before expanding its strikes to include civilian installations. The conflict has resulted in significant damage to energy infrastructure, with oil prices soaring due to disruptions in shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

The United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia have all been affected by Iranian attacks, with at least six US service members killed and 11 people in Israel and three others in the UAE reported dead. The region’s air defence systems have been put to the test, with reports of drones and missiles being intercepted.

Arab Gulf leaders have condemned Iran’s strikes as a violation of international law, reaffirming their right to self-defence. The US has pledged to continue its military assault on Iran, suspending services at some diplomatic missions in the region that have come under attack.
