Iran reviews US proposals amid ongoing conflict in Lebanon

US President Donald Trump has stated that talks between the US and Iran are proceeding, with Tehran currently reviewing a proposal submitted through Pakistan.

According to Trump, “very good talks” have taken place between the two nations. The US president suggested that a potential agreement to end the conflict could be within reach.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, Esmaeil Baghaei, confirmed that the country is still reviewing the US proposal. He stated that Tehran will communicate its response once it has finalized its views on the matter.

The diplomatic efforts come as regional tensions continue to escalate. The negotiations have been ongoing despite weeks of military escalation and political threats between Washington and Tehran.

Separately, Israel has expanded its military campaign in Lebanon, carrying out a bombing attack on Beirut for the first time since a ceasefire came into force on April 17.
