Iran’s Foreign Minister Announces Open Passage through Strait of Hormuz during Israel-Lebanon Ceasefire
A 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon has been agreed upon, and Iran’s foreign minister has announced that the passage for all commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz will remain open during this time. According to Abbas Araghchi, who made the announcement on X, the passage is declared “completely open” in line with the ceasefire.
The coordinated route for vessel passage, previously announced by the Ports and Maritime Organisation of Iran, will continue unchanged. This means that commercial vessels will be able to navigate through the strait without any restrictions during the remaining period of the ceasefire.
US President Donald Trump has also confirmed on social media that the Strait of Hormuz is “completely open and ready for business with full passage”. The announcement comes as part of the agreement between Israel and Lebanon, which was reached late on Thursday.
