US-Israeli Conflict Escalates with Iranian Retaliatory Strikes
Multiple locations across Iran have been targeted by drone and missile attacks, prompting retaliatory strikes from Tehran across the Gulf region. The US-Israel war on Iran entered its fifth day, with air raid sirens sounding in Israel as incoming missiles triggered loud blasts from interception attempts.
Israel issued an alert early Wednesday morning, instructing residents to seek shelter as missiles were launched from Iran. Defence systems attempted to intercept the threat, resulting in loud explosions and shrapnel falling in various areas of the country. The Israeli emergency medical service reported no casualties.
Tehran has continued its retaliatory missile and drone strikes against Israel and across the Gulf, with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defence reporting the interception and destruction of two cruise missiles over the al-Kharj governorate. Kuwait’s forces also intercepted and destroyed several “hostile aerial targets” that entered the country’s airspace.
The Israeli military reported conducting a series of strikes across Iran’s capital, targeting buildings associated with the Basij and internal security command. At least 787 people have been killed in joint US-Israeli attacks across Iran, according to the Iranian Red Crescent Society.
Reports from Al Jazeera indicate massive explosions were heard in Tehran, with multiple cities experiencing blasts. The IRGC announced ground forces entering battlefield operations, engaging 230 drones and targeting US military ships.
