Israeli Forces Launch Raids in Occupied West Bank, Detain Over 80 Palestinians
In a series of overnight raids, Israeli forces have detained at least 80 people across the occupied West Bank, wounding one man and demolishing another’s home. The incidents occurred on Thursday, with Israeli forces surrounding a home in Dura, south of Hebron, before shooting and wounding Mahmoud al-Fasfous’ brother.
Separately, Israeli forces sealed off the Khallat Nafisa area in Hebron and destroyed the home of Imran al-Atrash using a bulldozer. The demolition was posted on Telegram by the Israeli military, which claimed that al-Atrash was a “terrorist”.
According to reports, at least 80 Palestinians were detained during overnight and dawn raids across the West Bank, including former prisoners and civilians. Two arrests took place in the Arroub refugee camp, with other arrests under way in multiple areas surrounding Hebron.
In addition, Israeli forces raided the al-Majaz community of Masafer Yatta, plundering homes before converting one into a military outpost. The inhabitants were forced to spend the night outside in the cold.
The raids come amid an escalation of attacks by Israeli settlers on Palestinian civilians and property. Throughout 2025, Israeli settlers or soldiers killed 240 Palestinians in the West Bank, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). The agency reported that 55 of those killed were children.
The incidents are part of a broader campaign by Israel to annex the occupied territory.
