Israel launches airstrike killing 11 Palestinians in Gaza amid US aid announcement

US President Donald Trump Announces First Meeting of Board of Peace

Washington, DC - US President Donald Trump has announced that the first meeting of his newly created Board of Peace will take place on Thursday. The board has pledged $5 billion to rebuild the Gaza Strip, which was devastated by conflict.

According to medical sources, at least 11 Palestinians have been killed in attacks across the Gaza Strip since dawn on Sunday. Israeli forces targeted tents sheltering displaced Palestinians in the Jabalia refugee camp, killing at least five people. Additionally, Israeli forces killed five others in southern Khan Younis.

Hazem Qassem, a spokesperson for Hamas, condemned the latest Israeli attacks as a “new massacre” and a “criminal escalation”. He stated that these attacks were an attempt to impose a bloody reality on the ground and send a message that efforts to establish calm in Gaza are meaningless.

Since the ceasefire came into effect on October 10, Israel has killed at least 601 Palestinians and wounded 1,607 others. The Government Media Office in Gaza reported that Israel has carried out at least 1,620 violations of the agreement between October 10, 2025, and February 10, 2026.

The US has asked countries to pay $1 billion to join the Board of Peace, with reports suggesting that five countries may have already pledged to do so. Trump announced that the board’s members have committed “thousands of personnel” to maintaining security and peace for Gazans.

Trump also stated that Hamas must uphold its commitment to Full and Immediate Demilitarization. The first meeting of the Board of Peace will take place on Thursday in Washington, DC, with details on attendance not specified.
