Israeli Air Attacks Hit Southern Lebanon, Displacing Residents
A series of air attacks were launched by Israeli forces in southern Lebanon on Saturday, targeting areas near the Syrian border and several villages. The National News Agency reported that five Israeli air attacks occurred shortly before midnight in the Nabi Sreij area, which had previously been spared from attacks.
Additionally, large explosions were reported in the towns of Yohmor al-Shaqif in Nabatieh and Taybeh in the Marjayoun district. On Thursday, an Israeli attack near the Tebnine Hospital damaged all three floors of the building, including emergency rooms, intensive care units, and ambulances.
The Ministry of Public Health confirmed that two forced displacement warnings were issued by Israel’s military on Friday night, affecting the southern Lebanese village of Burj Rahal and areas in Tyre and Zqouq al-Mufdi. Residents reported fleeing their homes in fear and panic, with many unsure when they could return.
According to Al Jazeera, ambulances and rescue teams are present at the scene, but residents remain displaced due to the ongoing air attacks. The situation has been described as “psychological terror” by those affected.
Since March 2, more than 3,100 people have been killed in Lebanon, with a total of 123 medics, over 210 children, and nearly 300 women among the dead.
