Israeli Authorities Issue Expulsion Orders to Bedouin Families Near Ramallah, Demolish Palestinian Home in Jerusalem
Israeli occupation authorities have issued expulsion orders to a Bedouin community east of Ramallah and escalated demolition policies in occupied East Jerusalem. The measures come amid increased settler violence targeting educational institutions and residential homes.
On Sunday morning, Israeli forces raided the Abu Najeh al-Kaabneh Bedouin community in al-Mughayyir village, east of Ramallah. Soldiers delivered a military order requiring the community’s 40 residents to dismantle their homes and leave within 48 hours. The site was declared a “closed military zone”.
Separately, Yasser Maher Dana, a Palestinian resident of Jabal Mukaber neighbourhood in East Jerusalem, was forced to demolish his home on Sunday. Israeli authorities have been using demolition orders as a means of enforcing urban restriction policies.
Demolition orders have also been issued for residential rooms in Silwan and the Wadi Qaddum neighbourhood. Tensions rose at Al-Aqsa Mosque compound after dozens of Israeli settlers stormed the site under police protection, performing a provocative “wedding blessing” ritual.
In the Jordan Valley, Israeli settlers disrupted the school day at al-Maleh School, blocking teachers from reaching the school. The harassment coincides with the establishment of a new illegal settlement outpost in the area. Settlers also attacked the home of Hijazi Yamin in Faraata village east of Qalqilya.
Multiple raids were conducted across the West Bank by Israeli forces, including the arrest of three foreign solidarity activists attempting to document the eviction order. The expulsion orders are part of a widening campaign of ethnic cleansing in the region.
