Israeli Army Vehicles Enter Syrian Village in Southern Region

Israeli military vehicles entered the village of Saida al-Golan in southern Syria’s Quneitra countryside on Tuesday, according to an Al Jazeera correspondent on the ground. This incident marks a further breach of Syrian sovereignty.
Meanwhile, a Syrian delegation is holding negotiations with Israeli counterparts in Paris, under the coordination and mediation of the United States. The talks are expected to continue into a second day.
A government source stated that the resumption of these negotiations affirms Syria’s commitment to restoring its national rights. Israel has maintained its presence in Syrian territory since the fall of President Bashar al-Assad, extending its occupation beyond the Golan Heights.
Israeli forces have conducted near-daily incursions into southern Syria, particularly in the Quneitra governorate, carrying out arrests, erecting checkpoints, and bulldozing land. The Israeli army continues to carry out air raids that have caused civilian casualties and destroyed Syrian army sites and facilities.
Over the past year, Israel has launched more than 600 air, drone, and artillery attacks across Syria, averaging nearly two attacks per day. In 2017, Israel declared the Disengagement Agreement void after President al-Assad’s fall, citing the agreement’s protocols no longer applying.
The United States has been involved in facilitating talks between Israel and Syria on a security agreement for months. However, no deal or concrete progress has been announced. The international community generally rejects Israel’s annexation of the Golan Heights, while the US recognizes it.
