Israeli Attack Kills Four at Hotel in Beirut, Lebanon

Israeli Forces Launch Attack on Hotel in Beirut, Lebanon

A hotel in the center of Beirut, Lebanon’s capital city, was targeted by Israeli forces early Sunday, resulting in at least four fatalities and 10 injuries. The Lebanese Health Ministry confirmed the incident, which occurred in Raouche, a popular tourist destination.

According to reports, the attack targeted a specific room within the hotel, which was also housing displaced people fleeing the war in southern Lebanon and Beirut’s southern suburbs. The area is densely populated with hotels, many of which have been overcrowded due to the ongoing conflict.

The Israeli military stated that it targeted key commanders of Iran’s elite Quds Force, but did not provide further details on the individuals involved. The statement claimed that the commanders were responsible for advancing terror attacks against Israel and its civilians.

Israel has launched multiple waves of strikes across Lebanon this week, with ground troops also deployed to border areas. In southern Lebanon, at least 12 people were killed in three separate strikes overnight, according to the National News Agency.

Hezbollah, a group backed by Iran, claimed that it had launched rocket attacks targeting Israeli forces and a city across the border. The group also reported clashes with Israeli forces near the border town of Aitaroun.

Air raid sirens sounded in several areas of northern Israel, but there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage. The Israeli military has issued another forced evacuation order to four villages in southern Lebanon, following recent escalations in the conflict.

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam recently expressed concerns about the humanitarian and political consequences of the displacement caused by the ongoing war.
