Israeli forces carry out attack on Gaza, killing Palestinian doctor and injuring others

A Palestinian doctor has been killed and three people injured in an Israeli attack in central Gaza on Saturday. The incident occurred near the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah.

Additionally, Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian homes and property across the occupied West Bank, including in northern and southern parts of the territory. In Beita, south of Nablus, settlers threw stones at houses and smashed several vehicles. State-run Voice of Palestine radio reported that Israeli forces fired light bombs into the sky over the town.

In Masafer Yatta, Khirbet el-Muraq was targeted by settlers who damaged Palestinian farmland and destroyed trees. The attacks are part of a pattern of violence that has been ongoing in the West Bank since October 2023.

According to reports, at least 922 Palestinians have been killed and 2,786 others injured in Israeli attacks since the implementation of a United States-backed “ceasefire” aimed at halting Israel’s military operations in Gaza. The ceasefire was launched in October 2023.

In related incidents, artillery shelling targeted areas east and south of Khan Younis city in southern Gaza, while another strike hit al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza. A medical source reported that the body of Dr Jamal Abu Aboun had arrived at Al-Yafa Medical Hospital following an Israeli drone strike near the hospital.

The Gaza Media Office has documented over 1,000 Palestinian fatalities and more than 2,700 injuries since the start of the military operation in Gaza.
