Israeli forces claim responsibility for killing Iranian naval commander Alireza Tangsiri

Israeli Defence Minister Claims Assassination of Iranian Navy Commander

An Israeli air strike has resulted in the death of Alireza Tangsiri, commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps navy, according to Israel’s defence minister. The incident occurred on Wednesday night and targeted senior officers of the naval command, according to a statement released by Defence Minister Israel Katz.

Tangsiri was identified as the individual responsible for implementing measures that restricted access to the Strait of Hormuz for shipping vessels. This action has been attributed to Iran’s involvement in the ongoing conflict with the United States and Israel.

Israel has previously announced the assassination of several high-ranking Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and security chief Ali Larijani. The country has also carried out strikes targeting naval assets in recent days, including an attack on Iranian naval ships in the Caspian Sea last week.

Reports from Tehran indicate that there is no official confirmation of Tangsiri’s death from Iran at this time. However, experts suggest that such a development would be significant for the country, given its history of losing military commanders.
