Gaza Conflict: Palestinian Death Toll Reaches 411 Amid Israeli Ceasefire Violations
The number of Palestinians killed since the start of the truce in Gaza has risen to 411, according to reports from the Palestinian news service Wafa. The latest fatality occurred on Friday when Israeli forces fatally shot a man named Uday al-Maqadma east of Gaza City while he was sitting near the entrance of a school. Al-Maqadma was taken to hospital in critical condition and died shortly after arrival.
The truce agreement, which began in October, has been marked by continued ceasefire violations and sweeping raids across the occupied West Bank. Israeli forces have also imposed severe restrictions on aid entering Gaza, with an average of just 244 aid trucks arriving per day, below the mandated daily rate of 600.
In addition to Gaza, attacks by Israeli settlers and raids by Israeli soldiers have intensified in the occupied West Bank. A Palestinian municipal worker was injured after being attacked by a group of settlers outside Nablus on Friday, while farmers were detained by Israeli forces east of Tubas.
The situation has also seen violence in Lebanon, where UN peacekeeping forces reported coming under “heavy machinegun fire” from Israeli positions in southern Lebanon. The UN forces stated that the attacks are serious violations of Security Council resolution 1701 and called for an immediate cessation of aggressive behavior.
Separately, two people were killed in northern Israel after a Palestinian man from the occupied West Bank rammed his car into a crowd of people in the city of Beit She’an.
