Israeli forces kill Palestinians, arrest dozens in Gaza and West Bank operations

Israeli Air Attack Kills at Least Three Palestinians in Gaza

A recent air attack by Israel has resulted in the deaths of at least three people in Gaza, according to medics at Al-Aqsa Hospital. The victims were gathered outside a school in Deir el-Balah in central Gaza when they were targeted by Israeli forces.

In addition to the fatalities, at least 30 Palestinians have been arrested in raids across several cities and towns in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem. These arrests were part of a larger military operation that included searches of homes and property damage.

The attacks come as leaders from Hamas and other Palestinian factions are meeting with mediators from Egypt, Turkey, and Qatar in Cairo to discuss a fragile “ceasefire” agreement. The ceasefire was brokered by the United States last October after two years of conflict between Israel and Gaza.

According to reports, Israeli forces have been accused of moving some yellow-painted blocks that demarcate a depopulated zone in Gaza westwards, an accusation denied by Israel. Since the “ceasefire” came into effect, more than 750 Palestinians have been killed, while Hamas fighters have killed four Israeli soldiers.

The Palestinian Prisoners Media Office reported that two children and some freed detainees were among those arrested during the raids. The International Court of Justice declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory illegal in a landmark opinion in July 2024, calling for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Leaders from Hamas and other factions are currently discussing implementing the second phase of the fragile “ceasefire” deal, which would require Hamas to lay down its arms in stages over eight months. However, discussions on disarmament have been put on hold until Israel fully implements the first phase of the truce deal, which includes a complete ceasefire in Gaza.
