Israeli military launches airstrike in southern Beirut suburb targeting Hezbollah leader

Israeli Forces Launch Attack on Beirut’s Southern Suburbs

A loud explosion was reported in Beirut’s southern suburbs on Wednesday, resulting in extensive damage. The Israeli army has confirmed the attack, stating that its forces targeted Malek Balou, a commander of Hezbollah’s Radwan Force.

According to official statements, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz instructed the army to carry out the attack. Netanyahu released a statement on Telegram, saying: “Radwan terrorists are responsible for shooting at Israeli settlements and harming IDF soldiers. No terrorist has immunity - Israel’s long hand will catch every enemy and murderer.”

Netanyahu also stated that the attack was part of efforts to bring security to residents in the north, saying: “We promised to do this and we will do it!”

The incident marks the second time Israeli forces have targeted Beirut’s southern suburbs. The details surrounding the attack are still emerging, but officials have confirmed that Malek Balou was the intended target.

Hezbollah has not yet commented on the attack. The situation remains under investigation, with further updates to follow.
