US Policy in the Middle East Tied to Israeli Narratives, Says Analyst
A US policy expert has stated that the United States’ approach to the Middle East is increasingly indistinguishable from Israel’s. Daniel Levy, president of the US/Middle East Project, made this assertion during a recent interview.
Levy noted that Israel is currently engaged in a strategic effort to solidify its dominance across the region. He described this strategy as “permanent war,” which allows for only two possible outcomes: countries become dependent on Israel or they are deemed too fragile and collapsed to pose a challenge.
According to Levy, Israel can attempt to block a potential US-Iran deal by advocating for increased military action against Iran. Additionally, he suggested that Israel could exacerbate tensions in the region by launching frequent attacks on Lebanon and the Palestinians, despite existing ceasefires.
Levy’s comments highlight the complexities of US policy in the Middle East and its perceived alignment with Israeli interests. The implications of this relationship are being closely watched by regional stakeholders and global observers alike.
