Israels military strategy raises concerns about ongoing conflict duration

US Policy in the Middle East Blurred with Israeli Interests: Analyst

A US policy expert has stated that the United States’ approach to the Middle East is increasingly indistinguishable from Israel’s interests. Daniel Levy, president of the US/Middle East Project, made this assertion during a recent discussion.

According to Levy, Israel is currently engaged in a strategic effort to solidify its dominance across the region. This strategy involves maintaining a state of “permanent war,” which allows for only two possible outcomes: countries that are dependent on Israel or those that are too fragile and collapsed to pose a challenge.

Levy also suggested that Israel could attempt to block a potential US-Iran deal by advocating for increased military action against Iran. Furthermore, he noted that constant attacks on Lebanon and Palestine, despite ceasefires in place, can be used as a means of exerting pressure.

In this context, Levy emphasized the importance of understanding the complex dynamics at play in the region. His comments highlight the need for clarity in distinguishing between US policy objectives and those of Israel, which he believes are increasingly intertwined.
