Kylian Mbappe Not Included in Real Madrid Squad for El Clasico Match

Real Madrid Names Squad for El Clasico Despite Kylian Mbappe’s Training

Real Madrid has announced its 21-man squad for Sunday night’s crucial La Liga fixture against Barcelona at the Camp Nou stadium in Barcelona. The team will be led by Brazilian star Vinicius Jr, who will be supported by Brahim Diaz and Gonzalo Torres in the forward line.

Aurelien Tchouameni is listed among the midfielders despite a recent training ground incident with teammate Federico Valverde that resulted in both players being fined 500,000 euros ($589,000) each. The squad’s absence of Kylian Mbappe has sparked attention, as the French forward had been spotted training with his teammates on Friday.

Mbappe suffered a hamstring injury two weeks ago and was expected to return to action for this match. However, he will not be part of the team that takes on Barcelona. The Catalan giants are favored to win the match and retain their league title lead, which currently stands at 11 points over Real Madrid.

A draw would seal Barcelona’s 29th Spanish league win with three games to spare, while a victory would see them match the all-time league record of 100 points if they win their last four league games. Mbappe is expected to be fully fit for France’s World Cup 2026 campaign in June and July.

The French forward has been training with his teammates ahead of the El Clasico fixture, but will not be part of the squad that takes on Barcelona.
