Los Angeles Lakers Defeat Philadelphia 76ers in Thrilling Matchup
The Los Angeles Lakers secured a 119-115 victory over the visiting Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday, overcoming a 14-point deficit in the third quarter. Austin Reaves led the Lakers with 35 points off the bench, while LeBron James added 17 points and 10 assists.
Luka Doncic, who left the game late in the second quarter due to left leg soreness, will undergo an MRI according to coach JJ Redick. The Lakers’ comeback was fueled by a strong performance from Reaves, as well as contributions from Jake LaRavia and Rui Hachimura, who each scored 14 points.
The 76ers saw their five-game winning streak come to an end, with Joel Embiid scoring 35 points and Tyrese Maxey adding 26 points. Victor Wembanyama dominated for the San Antonio Spurs, scoring 29 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in a 122-112 win over the Dallas Mavericks.
Other teams also secured victories on Thursday. The Washington Wizards, despite having only 10 players available due to trade deadline moves, defeated the Detroit Pistons 124-115. Brandon Ingram scored 33 points for the Toronto Raptors, who beat the Chicago Bulls 129-117 in their first game since completing seven trades before the deadline.
The Charlotte Hornets extended their winning streak to eight games by defeating the Houston Rockets 122-114. Miles Bridges added 18 points and Josh Green tallied 14 points on 4-for-4 shooting for the Hornets. The Orlando Magic also secured a win, with Jalen Suggs registering his first career triple-double in a 125-115 victory over the Brooklyn Nets.
The Atlanta Hawks beat the Utah Jazz 122-114, with Jock Landale scoring 26 points in his debut and Nickeil Alexander-Walker scoring 23, including the game-winning basket. The San Antonio Spurs also won, with Victor Wembanyama leading the way for a 122-112 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.
The Los Angeles Lakers’ win marked their first victory since returning from a 5-3 road trip.
