The Los Angeles Lakers secured their eighth consecutive win on Thursday night, defeating the Miami Heat 134-126 at home. Luka Doncic led the team with a season-high 60 points, surpassing James Harden’s previous record of 58 points against the Heat.
Doncic achieved this milestone while shooting 18 of 30 from the floor, nine of 17 on three-pointers, and 15 of 19 at the free throw line. He also contributed seven rebounds, five steals, and three assists. This performance marked the second time Doncic has scored 60 points in a single game.
LeBron James added to the Lakers’ success with a triple-double, recording 19 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists. The Heat’s Bam Adebayo led the team with 28 points and 10 rebounds, while Tyler Herro contributed 21 points and Norman Powell added 20.
The game saw a significant turnaround in the second quarter, as the Lakers cut their deficit to 65-59 at halftime. The Lakers took their first lead of the game at 72-71 with 9:05 left in the third quarter, and by the end of the period, they led 97-88.
The Heat struggled from behind the arc, missing 10 of 12 attempts in the quarter. The Lakers closed out the game without much trouble in the fourth quarter, securing their third straight win over Miami.
