Madrids Carvajal Faces Tight Deadline to Secure Spot on Spains World Cup Squad

Spanish International Dani Carvajal Suffers Foot Injury During Training Session

Real Madrid player Dani Carvajal has suffered a right foot injury during a training session for the club last week. Spain national team manager Luis de la Fuente confirmed that Carvajal’s condition is being monitored, and he may still be considered for the World Cup squad.

De la Fuente stated that Carvajal is an essential member of the team, and he has been informed about his injury through a conversation with the player. The manager emphasized that while the injury is not serious, Carvajal needs time to regain his fitness level.

The Spain national team will assess Carvajal’s readiness for the World Cup in the remaining matches. De la Fuente acknowledged that Carvajal may be left out of the squad if he does not demonstrate sufficient form and fitness. This decision would not be a surprise, given Carvajal’s limited appearances for Spain in 2025.

Carvajal, who is nearing the end of his contract with Real Madrid, has struggled to secure regular playing time this season due to competition from Trent Alexander-Arnold. The World Cup is scheduled to take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19. Spain will begin their campaign against Cape Verde on June 15 and also face Saudi Arabia and Uruguay in Group H.
