Manchester City’s Match at Everton Ends in Draw
Manchester City’s Premier League match against Everton ended in a 3-3 draw, leaving them five points behind leaders Arsenal despite having a game in hand. The result means that City are now out of the running for the league title, according to manager Pep Guardiola.
Guardiola stated that the team is no longer in control of their chances and will have to wait and see what happens over the remaining four games. “Four games we have left in the Premier League. They will be quite similar, and we’ll see what happens,” he said.
The draw prevented City from drawing level with Arsenal on points, but they still have a chance to catch up if leaders Arsenal suffer a setback. Guardiola acknowledged that the team’s performance was not as desired, saying “It’s better than losing” but also expressed his desire for a win.
Winger Jeremy Doku scored the equalizing goal in the 97th minute, which completed a double on the night. He stated that the team has not abandoned hope and will continue to fight despite the current situation. “It’s painful now, but there’s still a lot of games to go, and anything can happen,” he said.
The match marked an important point in City’s season, as they face Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, and Aston Villa in their final three league games. Meanwhile, Arsenal have a relatively easier schedule ahead, with games against West Ham United, Burnley, and Palace.
