Italian Rider Extends Perfect Start to Season with US Grand Prix Win

Marco Bezzecchi of Aprilia secured his fifth consecutive Grand Prix victory at the United States Grand Prix in Austin on Sunday, taking control of the world championship standings after three rounds. The win marked Bezzecchi’s third consecutive win of the season and his fifth straight dating back to last season.

Bezzecchi led all 20 laps of the Circuit of the Americas, crossing the line 2.036 seconds ahead of teammate Jorge Martin. Pedro Acosta rounded out the podium after finishing third in Saturday’s sprint race. Bezzecchi reclaimed the lead in the MotoGP standings with 81 points, four points clear of Martin.

Bezzecchi also became the third Italian rider to win five consecutive Grand Prix and the first rider to win the first three Grands Prix of the season since Marc Marquez in 2014. In a post-race interview, Bezzecchi expressed his emotions, stating that he was “very happy” and “proud” after the win.

The results also saw Fabio Di Giannantonio finish fourth for VR46 Racing, while Francesco Bagnaia of the Ducati Lenovo Team finished 10th. The standings now reflect Bezzecchi’s position as leader with 81 points, ahead of Martin on 77 points.
