New York Knicks to Face San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 of NBA Finals

The New York Knicks are set to face off against the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, with the Knicks holding a 3-1 lead. The Spurs, who have been criticized for their worst collapse in NBA Finals history, remain optimistic about their chances despite being down by three games.

In Game 4, the Knicks overcame a 29-point deficit to win 107-106, while the Spurs struggled to recover from a 20-point lead with just 9:33 left in the game. The previous largest comeback in an NBA Finals game was 24 points by the Boston Celtics against the Los Angeles Lakers in 2008.

The Knicks’ coach, Mike Brown, acknowledges that closing out the series in Game 5 at San Antonio will be a challenging task. “It’s going to be hard,” he said. “San Antonio is a great team and they’re desperate.”

Meanwhile, Knicks star guard Jalen Brunson has expressed his focus on the next game, saying, “I’ve always told myself when you wake up the next day, it’s time to turn the page.” He recorded 36 points and seven assists in Game 4.

Spurs point guard De’Aaron Fox remains confident about their chances. “We still have that belief that we have a chance to win,” he said. “But we’re taking this one game at a time.”

The Spurs’ coach, Mitch Johnson, has acknowledged that his team missed opportunities in the series, but emphasizes the importance of accountability within the locker room. “There’s nobody that’s going to be harder on ourselves than the people in the locker room and each other,” he said.

Game 5 is set to take place on Saturday night, with the Spurs looking to stay alive in the best-of-seven series.
