Nigeria Advances to Africa Cup of Nations Knockout Stage with 3-2 Win Over Tunisia

Fes, Morocco - Nigeria secured a spot in the knockout stage of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after defeating Tunisia 3-2 in Group C. The match was played at the Stade de Fès in northern Morocco.

Victor Osimhen scored three goals for Nigeria, including two headers, while Wilfred Ndidi and Ademola Lookman also found the net. Montassar Talbi and Ali Abdi responded with goals for Tunisia.

The match saw a late surge from Tunisia, with the North Africans scoring twice in the final minutes to reduce the deficit. However, Nigeria held on to secure the win.

In other Group C matches, Tanzania drew 1-1 with Uganda, while Tanzania also lost to Nigeria earlier in the tournament.

This was the seventh meeting between Nigeria and Tunisia at an AFCON, with Nigeria winning three times and Tunisia once. The two teams will face each other again in the final round of group matches on Tuesday.
