Pakistan Defeats Australia by 90 Runs in Lahore
In the second Twenty20 International of their tour, Pakistan secured a convincing 90-run victory over Australia in Lahore on Saturday. The win sealed the three-match T20 series for Pakistan with a 2-0 lead.
Salman Ali Agha scored his highest score in the shortest format, hitting 76 runs off 40 balls. Usman Khan contributed 53 runs off 36 balls to help Pakistan post their highest-ever T20I total against Australia at 198-5.
Pakistan’s spin quintet shared all 10 wickets between them, with Abrar Ahmed taking the best figures of 3-14 and Shadab Khan finishing with 3-26. Australia was routed for 108 in 15.4 overs, giving Pakistan their largest T20I victory over Australia.
Captain Mitchell Marsh acknowledged that Pakistan outplayed Australia, saying “Pakistan outplayed us.” He added that they were under pressure in batting and scored a big total despite the team’s best efforts.
The match marked Pakistan’s first T20I series win over Australia since 2018. The final match is scheduled for Sunday in Lahore.
