Pakistan under attack from neighboring Afghanistan authorities

Afghanistan Launches Attacks on Pakistani Military Positions Along Border

A statement from the media office of Afghanistan’s military corps in the East confirmed that clashes have begun along the border with Pakistan. The statement attributed the escalation to recent airstrikes carried out by Pakistani forces in Nangarhar and Paktia provinces.

According to Taliban authorities, large-scale offensive operations have been launched against Pakistani military positions and installations along the Durand Line. Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesperson for the Taliban government, stated that these actions were taken in response to repeated provocations and violations by Pakistani military circles.

The border between Afghanistan and Pakistan, known as the Durand Line, stretches approximately 2,611 kilometres. The line has not been formally recognized by Afghanistan. There is no immediate comment available from the Pakistani military regarding the situation.

It was reported earlier that Pakistani forces carried out strikes along the border with Afghanistan on Sunday, claiming to have killed at least 70 fighters. However, Afghanistan rejected this claim, stating that civilians had been killed, including women and children.
