Pakistan’s Fatima Sana Breaks Record for Fastest Half-Century in Women’s T20 Cricket
Fatima Sana of Pakistan achieved a world record by scoring the fastest half-century in women’s T20 international cricket, reaching 50 runs off just 15 balls against Zimbabwe at the National Stadium in Karachi. The match was part of a series between the two teams, with Pakistan ultimately emerging victorious.
Sana’s innings included 10 fours and two sixes, played at a strike rate of 326. She contributed to Pakistan’s total of 223-4 in 20 overs, while also taking one wicket as Zimbabwe was bowled out for 90 runs in 17.1 overs.
The 24-year-old Sana has been a standout player for Pakistan over the past few years, particularly in her batting. Her performance against South Africa in one-day international matches has also been notable, with two half-centuries scored.
In her last 10 games in limited-overs cricket, Sana has taken 18 wickets and scored 283 runs. The match-winning innings marked a significant achievement for the player, who is now recognized as the record holder for the fastest half-century in women’s T20 international cricket.
