Pakistan’s Fatima Sana Breaks Record for Fastest Half-Century in Women’s T20 Cricket
Fatima Sana, captain of the Pakistan women’s team, achieved a record-breaking performance in a match against Zimbabwe at the National Stadium in Karachi on Friday. Sana scored 50 runs off 15 balls, surpassing the previous record held by Sophie Devine of New Zealand, Phoebe Litchfield of Australia, and Richa Ghosh of India.
Sana’s innings began with a boundary off the first delivery, setting the tone for her aggressive batting. She went on to score 10 fours and two sixes, contributing to Pakistan’s total of 223-4 in 20 overs. The team ultimately won the match by 133 runs, securing the series 3-0.
Sana also took one wicket as Zimbabwe was bowled out for 90 runs in 17.1 overs. Her performance earned her the Player of the Match award.
In recent years, Sana has established herself as a key player for Pakistan, with notable performances in both limited-overs and international matches. She has scored two half-centuries in one-day internationals against South Africa and has taken 18 wickets in her last 10 games.
